Are you having a fabulous perimenopause and menopause?
Hi. I have been studying and writing about perimenopause and menopause for two years now. My research led me in different directions than I initially thought it would.
I thought hormone replacement therapy would be the answer to all our perimenopause anxieties about aging and losing our femininity and brain power, amongst other things. Boy was I wrong! You will have to delve deeper into this site to read about what I have learned. If you only have a few minutes, then I suggest you read the article "What I know for Sure about perimenopause and menopause" to give you a brief overview.
I recently asked my husband of 25 years to join me on Nursing Menopause to give his male perspective on andropause, healthy midlife aging and the impact of toxins in the environment and our food. He immediately agreed, but asked if we could change the name of the website because the word "menopause" is a little embarrassing and "midlife" would be more tolerable. I can't change the name without losing my current following...soooooo, poor him. Can you feel his embarrassment?
On the other hand, perimenopause, menopause and andropause affects every midlife man and woman. So, why shouldn't we talk about it?
I'm Glenda de Vries. I've worked as a Registered Nurse on the cancer ward, in nursing homes, in rehabilitation and psychiatry.
Take a look at my recipes featuring phytoestrogens to improve your perimenopause symptoms, or read about the top ten ways to get that (nearly) flat belly, how fitness can reduce your symptoms or read about attitude changes such as laughter, meditation and gratitude and how these can have profound results.
If you are looking for answers to your perimenopausal questions, go to my Menopause Forum link on the navigation bar. Or, better yet, ask your own question.
Sometimes, even when you've made the very best lifestyle changes you may still find you need some additional support with natural remedies. I really do not recommend swallowing pregnant horse urine, by the way.
I would love to hear from you to learn what is and isn't working for your perimenopause. We can all benefit from our shared knowledge.
If you like this site, please go to the top left hand corner and subscribe to the RSS feed to receive updated information. I promise to let you know about anything that's pertinent.
I apologize in advance if you think the subtle humor I've tried to add to this site isn't really funny.
Welcome, and please come along for your magnificent perimenopause and menopausal ride!
By the way, While this site is for everyone from all over the world, I'm Canadian and proud of it. .
