Foods to Avoid

Foods to Avoid Certain foods are not only bad for your waistline, your skin, your mood, your energy level, your cancer-risk and other horrible diseases; they can also throw your hormones off balance. And who needs that? If you love yourself and your family be sure to put these on your list of foods to avoid. Feed them to the bears, they’ll love it! Look, the one in the middle is thanking you. If you’re on a tight budget, use up these products and never buy them again.
• Artificial sweeteners and all products that contain them.
• Pop of any kind, including diet pop.
• Products containing high-fructose corn syrup.
• Products containing trans fats.
• Shortening and margarine.
• Processed and packaged foods that contain preservatives.
• Fast foods.
• Sliced meats that contain sulfites and nitrites.
• Low-fat packaged foods (they’re loaded with junk to make them taste good).
A further to-do list
While you’re at it, take a look at your storage containers. Replace all plastic food containers with glass, wood, metal or BPA-free plastic.
Never microwave your food covered by plastic wrap or in plastic containers or Styrofoam. Dioxins (estrogen-like chemicals) can leach into your foods and drinks.
Buy your condiments in glass.
Remember my article on the
benefits of water?
? Drink your water, but avoid plastic water bottles as much as you can (unless they’re BPA-free). Choose glass bottles and stainless steel for water on the go.
