Benefits of Almonds
I have a handful of delicious almonds at my desk at all times and eat them as my energy wanes throughout the day. They are a lifesaver. They are so good for you! • Boosts levels of vitamin E. This is one of the most important antioxidants for your skin. If you want to look radiant-and who doesn’t?-pop these little nuggets in your mouth.
• Adds moisture to your skin.
• Although they are high in calories, you are more likely to maintain or lose weight if you eat them. Why? Because they are also high in protein (satiates you) and they are high in fiber (also helps to make you feel full), so you will eat less junk food.
• Keeps energy levels elevated and stable.
• High in Calcium to help prevent osteoporosis.
I advise you not to eat the salted kind. This is because they taste far better than the non-salted ones and you might eat too many. Also, who needs salt? If you don’t like the taste of them, suck it up and eat them anyways. Only eat a handful a day. They are an excellent source of protein which keeps your energy up. Here's an Almond and Banana and Soy Milk Smoothie Recipe for you and three others: Ingredients 3/4 cup ground almonds (or grind them yourself in a food processor) 2 1/2 cups soy milk 2 ripe bananas 1 tsp vanilla extract ground cinnamon for dusting on top (optional)
MethodPlace all of the ingredients in a blender and process until it is nice and smooth and creamy. Pour into tall glasses and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top.
